The Portland English Language Academy (PELA) provides high-quality English language instruction tailored to the diverse language needs of students from multiple cultural backgrounds. We provide opportunities for students to explore, discover, and learn English in all its uses, building the skills it takes to communicate effectively. Intensive English Course
  • Min age: 16 - Required Visa: F1
  • 30 hours per week

The intensive English course is designed to significantly enhance students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension abilities. This program offers more classes than standard General English courses, ensuring a more comprehensive learning experience. Additionally, students can customize their learning by selecting specific skills and vocabulary topics according to their needs.

  • 27 hours per week

The Semi-Intensive English course offers standard English instruction with additional lessons, perfect for students looking to improve their skills while still having free time. This course focuses on enhancing writing, reading, speaking, and listening comprehension.
